Build Section Help Guide
The Build section provides a clear, organized, and user-friendly way to create and manage your study from start to finish.
With the Build section, you can:
Review your study at a glance: Visualize and understand the participant experience step-by-step.
Duplicate questions: Quickly duplicate questions for screening questions.
Reorder: You can reorder sections and tasks within a section.
Sections under Build
Each section is designed to represent a part of the study. The left panel includes the following:
Welcome
Customize a greeting for participants to introduce them to your study.
Toggle on/off
Participant Agreement
Add any necessary agreements participants need to consent to before proceeding.
Toggle on/off
Screening Questions
Add screening questions to ensure the right audience completes your study.
Choose from a single-choice or multi-choice question type.
Edit your rejection message or choose to add a redirect URL.
Add a study section
Study sections are where you define the core content of your study.
Add one or more sections to your study
Choose from:
Figma prototype
Vibe-coded prototype
Live site
Survey
You can add multiple sections of the same type e.g. multiple prototypes
Thank You Screen
Show a closing message to thank participants for their time and effort.
You can also choose to add a redirect URL here.
Closed Screen
Customize a message to inform participants if the study is no longer accepting responses.
You can also choose to add a redirect URL here.
Review and publish
You can choose to publish immediately to generate a shareable link or schedule the study to publish at a later time.
Once published, you can share the study link to invite participants on your own.
For Optimal Recruitment's specialized service, you can either submit a request before or after your study goes live. Our recruitment team will begin sourcing participants as soon as your study goes live.
You can also preview your study before publishing.
To reorder sections or tasks, drag and drop to move them. Hover over the section or task icon, then click and hold to reorder.
Please note that logic is currently not available in Optimal's Usability Testing tool. If this feature is important to you, please submit this feedback via our features request and feedback form.
