If your participants are being supplied by an external recruitment provider, they will require you to set up Redirect URLs to help them identify which participants complete your study.
This is generally achieved by passing a unique identifier for each participant generated by the panel into the study, and then back out again at the end.
If this is your first time working with an external recruitment provider, we would recommend reaching out to their support team to help with the setup.
Pass a unique identifier into your study
When you send your study URL to the recruitment provider, you will need to add a query parameter token to the end of it.
The study URL itself is not editable in Optimal Workshop, you will need to copy it and add the query parameter token yourself.
Add a query parameter token to your URL
Optimal Workshop study URLs take the form:
To add the query parameter token, add ?token=[ID] to the URL when you send it to the recruitment provider.
For example:
In this case, the 12345 needs to be provided by your panel.
Pass the unique identifier out of your study
When your participants finish the study, they will need to be redirected back to the recruitment provider. The query parameter token will also need to pass out of the study.
The recruitment provider should provide you with a URL for some or all of the below options. The URL they provide should already include the query parameter token that they require.
Redirect URLs
There are three places to add a Redirect URL in an Optimal Workshop study:
1. Complete Redirect URL
Participants are redirected here when they complete your study.
Located under the 'Messages and instructions' tab, under 'Thank You'.
2. Closed Redirect URL
Participants are redirected here if your study has closed.
Located under the 'Messages and instructions' tab, under 'Closed'.
3. Rejection Redirect URL
Participants are redirected here if they are rejected by one of your screening question.
Located under the 'Questionnaire' tab, under 'Participant screener' (if you have set up screening questions).
