Update on retiring Reframer v1

The old version of Reframer will be retired on 1 December, 2022. Don't worry, there's nothing you need to do. All of your studies will be transferred to the new version of Reframer.

What’s the same and what’s different in the new version?

The main difference between the new Reframer and the original Reframer is the analysis workflow. We've brought in the affinity map and affinity map groups, in addition to tag and filter based analysis (Themes tab).

We've also updated the workflow of the entire tool to better represent an end-to-end qualitative research workflow.

What’s the same or similar?

Study overview and sessions

This is the same as in v1, but is now nested under the Setup > Sessions tab.

Managing tasks

You can still create and manage tasks or discussion points. You'll now find it under the Setup > Discussion Guide tab.

Managing tags

Stays the same.

Review and tag observations

Stays the same, but is now found under Analysis > Review and tag.

What’s different?

Capturing observations

You now capture observations under the Capture tab, and you'll need to select the relevant session you're wanting to capture against in the dropdown at the top.

Themes tab

While we've brought the powerful Themes tab filtering functionalities from Reframer v1 across to the new version, we've left the bubble chart behind.

Navigating your study

We've adjusted the navigation of the study to better reflect the qualitative research workflow.

Setup actions on the Setup tab

All set up related actions and pages now live under the ‘Setup’ tab. This is where you’ll be able to create your study overview, tasks, tags, segments, and study members.

We’ve moved all analysis related pages under the ‘Analysis’ tab.

New segment management

We moved segment management into its own page under the Setup tab. The ‘Segments’ tab is where you can describe the segmentation and attributes of your participants.

Download your data

At this stage, we’re currently only providing the option to download one spreadsheet with the raw data of all your observations, tags, segments, groups, themes and metadata associated with them. You can also download the affinity map, simply right click on the map and select Download affinity map.
