Organizations have their own data sensitivity requirements and responsibilities around how sensitive information is handled.
To support these needs, you can identify and remove sensitive content in Optimal Interviews before any AI-powered insights and summaries are created, giving you greater confidence and control over what information is included in your analysis.
How the redaction editor works
Once interview videos have been uploaded, processed, and transcribed, you can review the content and manually redact anything you consider sensitive. You can redact as many sections as needed, from individual words through to entire sections of an interview.
Once you’ve completed your redactions, you can start analysis or regenerate insights with additional sessions. Only the redacted version of the content is considered for analysis.
Redacted content cannot be viewed, recovered, searched for, downloaded, or reintroduced into the analysis workflow.
To get started, first go to Details > Privacy and enable Suspend auto-generation of insights.
Once your recordings are available, go to your Results > Sessions > click on and individual session > click on Redaction editor.
You can highlight the text and then the redaction that best suits your needs and click Add redaction. You can continue to add and save new redactions until
Once you've finalized your redactions, go to Sessions to integrate those sessions into the automated insights and summaries.
Redact what you need
The redaction editor gives you granular control over what is removed:
Audio + transcript: remove spoken content from the recording and its corresponding transcript.
Video: remove visual content while keeping the audio and transcript. This is particularly useful for sensitive screen content or information shared during an interview.
Any amount of content: redact anything from a single word to a large section of an interview.
Multiple redactions: apply as many redactions as necessary before allowing the interview into analysis.
Redaction happens before AI analysis
Interviews' AI-powered analysis and Chat with your Data capabilities operate on the post-redaction content.
The same workflow applies to new interviews added to the study later. Upload additional interviews, review and redact them when you’re ready, and then choose when they become available to analysis.
Enforce redaction across your account
For organizations that need stronger controls, redaction can be enforced at the account level.
When enabled, all Interviews studies created by users in the account must use the redaction workflow before videos can be analyzed. This makes redaction a required step rather than an optional capability, helping enterprises manage their risk landscape consistently across their organization.
To set up account-level redaction, please contact our team to get this enabled.
