Overview
The Insights feature within the Qualitative Insights tool allows you to capture meaningful takeaways and key findings from a study faster and more efficiently. Each Insight consists of a title, description, and a selection of relevant observations.
With Insights, you can instantly view all Insights on the overview page or deep dive into individual Insights to inform key decisions. Insights is intended to be useful with or without AI features enabled.
Individual Insight view
Team members can create and edit new Insights on the dedicated Insights tab manually and/or with AI. Note takers cannot create or edit new Insights.

Create an Insight without AI
Click on + Create new insight
Click on + Edit observations to add individual observations
Optional: Click on + Add filter on the Add observations page to apply 'and/or' logic to filter by keywords, tags, affinity map groupings, tasks, segments, sessions, or notetaker, and select the observations to add to an Insight.
After selecting an Insight to view it, you can:
Add or edit the title
Add or edit the summary/description
Add or remove observations
Delete the Insight
Generate Insights with AI
Overview page with AI-generated Insights
Use our AI assistant to speed up Insight discovery and reveal hidden patterns in your data. Anything AI generated can be edited or deleted.
Click on Generate to have AI automatically produce new Insights from existing observations. AI will:
Generate the Insight titles
Write a summary/description of the Insight
Attach the relevant or contributing observations to each insight
AI generated Insights will be indicated with a sparkle icon on the main Insights page and individual Insight page.
After selecting an insight to view it, you can:
Add or edit the Insight
Add or edit the summary/description
Regenerate the title and description
Add or remove observations
Delete the Insight
The Insight can also be deleted if the user doesn’t wish to use it, or already has one similar.
Tip: For the best results, we recommend having at least 20 observations captured before using the AI assistant.
Generate AI Insights in different languages
Our AI-powered Insights are designed to support languages beyond English. The AI Insights functionality works to detect the main language of your observations and generate titles and descriptions in that language.
Important Note: While the AI strives to accurately match the language of your observations, occasional inconsistencies may occur. Your feedback is invaluable for helping us improve this feature, so please share your experience through our feedback and feature request form.
