Do participants need Optimal accounts in order to complete the study?

Participants do not need an Optimal account in order to complete the video recording. There’s no plug in required for set up or for participants to start recording so it's easy for participants to get started.​

When does the recording start?

The video recording will not start until the participant begins the first task. The recording will also record post task questions.

It will not record:

  • Screening questions

  • Pre study questions

  • Post study questions

What operating systems does video recording work on?

It’s recommended for participants to have up-to-date browsers. The system will work on all major standards: Edge, Safari, Firefox, and Chrome.

How do I recruit for participants taking a prototype test on their mobile device?

You can submit a request to Optimal Recruitment (specialized) before or after your study goes live for prototype test intended to be taken with mobile devices. Our recruitment team will begin sourcing participants as soon as your study goes live.

How many recordings are available for my Workspace?

You have 100 free recordings per study. If you require more than 100 recordings, please reach out to your account manager or the support team for more details.

What is the maximum duration for video recordings?

There are 60 minutes of recording available per participant per study.

I'm on a free trial. How many recordings do I have access to?

During your trial period, you can view video recordings and study results for up to 2 participants per study across all tools. If you've recruited more than 2 participants during your trial and wish to access those video recordings, you will need to upgrade to a paid plan with prototype testing.

Can you use Optimal Recruitment for Video Recording?

You can submit a specialized request with Optimal Recruitment or recruit on your own.

Can I run my study in a different language?

Yes, you can set your language under Setup > Settings > Language and it will apply to your video recording participant experience.

How do you delete recordings?

When you delete a study or delete a participant, the video recording will be deleted. These are the only options to delete a video recording at this time.

Are there transcription capabilities?
