How to get set up
Video recording is supported by browser technology, so it’s easy to add on to your studies with no plug in required.
For live site tests, screen and audio recording are required. You have the option to select your preference for camera recordings.
Go to Setup > Settings under a live site test to customize your preferences for the recording feature.
Set your criteria for camera recordings
Select Optional, Required or Off
Recording settings cannot be changed after the study launches.
Please note that recording capabilities are available for all Mac and Windows up-to-date browsers on desktop.
Note that mobile screens cannot be currently be recorded and will be screened out.
How to recruit participants for video recording
To recruit participants, go to the Recruit tab to request Managed Recruitment - full service recruitment support from Optimal - or recruit on your own by sharing the study link with participants.
Recruitment for video recording using our Standard Recruitment is not currently available.
How video recording limits work
There is a limit of 60 minutes of recording per participant per study and 100 participant recordings per study.
Once the participant limit is reached, the video recording recruitment URL will remain active but will capture results without video recording.
Usage limits will be shown under Setup > Settings > Video Recording to show how many participant recordings are available. Customers can also click the call-to-action to request an increase.
