Do participants need Optimal accounts in order to complete the study?
Participants do not need an Optimal account in order to complete the live site testing. There’s no plug in required for set up or for participants to start recording so it's easy for participants to get started.
When does the recording start?
The recording will not start until the participant begins the first task or question. It will not record screening questions.
What operating systems does live site testing work on?
It’s recommended for participants to have up-to-date browsers. The system will work on all major standards: Edge, Safari, Firefox, and Chrome.
Live site tests accessed via mobile devices cannot be completed at this time. Those participants will be screened out automatically.
How many recordings are available for my Workspace?
You have 100 free recordings per study. If you require more than 100 recordings, please reach out to your account manager or the support team for more details.
What is the maximum duration for recordings?
There are 60 minutes of recording available per participant per study.
I'm on a free trial. How many recordings do I have access to?
During your trial period, you can view recordings and study results for up to 2 participants per study across all tools. If you've recruited more than 2 participants during your trial and wish to access those recordings, you will need to upgrade to a paid plan.
Can you use Optimal Recruitment for live site testing?
You can use Managed Recruitment or recruit on your own. Recruiting for Video Recording with Standard Recruitment is not yet available.
Is live site testing integrated with Optimal's interviews tool?
If you are interested in using Optimal Interviews for live site tests, we recommend prompting participants to speak aloud for your live site test in the instructions and/or live site tasks.
You can then download their video recordings and upload them to an Interviews project for deeper analysis. Note that this approach consumes two study credits for study limit plans.
Can I run my study in a different language?
Yes, you can set your language under Setup > Settings > Language and it will apply to your participant experience.
How do you delete recordings?
When you delete a study or delete a participant, the video recording will be deleted. These are the only options to delete a video recording at this time.
Are there transcription capabilities?
If you have access to Optimal Interviews as part of your plan, you can get automated transcriptions by uploading your live site testing video recordings into our Interviews tool. Please note that on study-limit plans, uploading live site recordings to Optimal Interview will count as a separate study.
