Video recording is currently available via our closed beta. If you are an admin on a Teams or Enterprise plan, you can register your interest in the beta via this form.

Do participants need Optimal accounts in order to complete the study?

Participants do not need an Optimal account in order to complete the video recording. There’s no plug in required for set up or for participants to start recording so it's easy for participants to get started.

When does the recording start?

The video recording will not start until the participant begins the first task. The recording will also record post task questions.

It will not record:

  • Screening questions

  • Pre study questions

  • Post study questions

What operating systems does video recording work on?

It’s recommended for participants to have up-to-date browsers. The system will work on all major standards: Edge, Safari, Firefox, and Chrome.

For mobile:

  • Screen sharing is not supported.

  • Camera/audio studies are supported on mobile.

What limits are in place for closed beta?

The following limits are in place:

  1. Maximum # of participant recordings per Workspace - 100 participant recordings

  2. Maximum # of X minutes of recording per participant per study - 30 minutes

Can you use Optimal Recruitment for Video Recording?

During the closed beta, you can use Managed Recruitment or recruit on your own. Recruiting for Video Recording with On-Demand is not yet available.

How do you delete recordings?

When you delete a study or delete a participant, the video recording will be deleted. These are the only options to delete a video recording at this time.

Are there transcription capabilities?

For the closed beta launch, there will not be transcription capabilities available. For more details on considerations for the video recording roadmap, please visit our roadmap help documentation.
